If you're Irish or simply admiring green petals, here are three easy to grow, green blooming plants for your patio or garden: ~ Bells of Ireland (Moluccella laevis) A symbol of good luck, seeds need light to germinate, full sun to partial shade, excellent in fresh (7 to 10 days) and dry arrangements, deer and rabbit resistant, doesn't do well in hot, humid climates Plant Height: 2'-3' Plant Width: 9" ~ Coneflower (Rudbeckia fulgida 'Green Wizard') Easy to grow from seeds, full sun, USDA zones: 3-9, excellent for fresh or dried arrangements, attracts bees and butterflies, seeds after blooming provide food for birds Plant Height: 2' 6" Plant Width: 12" ~ Zinnia (Zinnia elegans 'Envy') One of the easiest to grow from seeds (direct sow), part shade (for most intense color) to full sun, blooms all summer, attracts butterflies, trim off all the foliage before putting to vase Plant Height: 2' 6" Plant Width: 12" |
